Exit Nyasa Bullets and Civil as Nomads and Silver book a final place
By Staff Reporter
Mighty Wanderers will play Silver Strikers in the Nzika Pamtsetse Bonanza final on Sunday after beating Civil Service United and Nyasa Big Bullets respectively.
The Nomads were 2-0 winners over the Civil Servants in an early kick-off at Bingu National Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Chiukepo Msowoya scored the first goal for nomads in the 22nd minute easing past his former goalkeeper at Bullets, Ernest Kakhobwe.
Vincent Nyanguru doubled the lead minutes later with a thunderous shot to ensure victory for the Lali Lubani boys.
Msowoya had a chance to claim a brace from the penalty spot after Nyanguru was fouled in the box but the former Bullets striker missed the spot kick.
In Saturday’s late kick-off, it was sweet revenge for Silver Strikers who beat Nyasa Big Bullets 1-0 to book themselves a place in the final.
Chawanangwa Kaonga scored the only goal of the match for the Central Bankers in the 68th minute.
Last week Silver lost to the Peoples team by the same margin at Kamuzu Stadium in the NBS Bank Charity Shield.
Wanderers will now face Silver Strikers tomorrow as Civil Service United host Nyasa Big Bullets in a third place play-off.
The two-day Bonanza has been organised by Nzika Flood Response in partnership with TNM and NBS Bank to raise resources for people affected by floods in the country.
