New Dawn Boxing Cracks Down on Illegal Live Streaming

By Rahim Abdul

New Dawn Boxing Promotion has issued a stern warning against the unauthorized broadcasting and sharing of footage from its boxing tournaments, saying legal action will be taken against offenders.

In a statement released from Lilongwe, the promotion says some individuals illegally recorded and streamed live footage from its boxing tournament held at Kamuzu Institute for Sports on May 3, 2026.

According to the statement signed by Managing Director Michael Chimaliza, the footage was later shared on various social media platforms for free viewing by people who did not attend the event.

The boxing promotion says the live streaming and recording were done without written permission despite prior warnings issued before and during the tournament.

New Dawn Boxing Promotion says the action has negatively affected the integrity and commercial value of its events, prompting the organization to seek legal advice from its lawyers.

The promoters have since warned members of the public against recording, rebroadcasting or sharing any part of their boxing tournaments without official authorization from the company.

The statement further says even footage obtained from media partners with broadcasting rights should not be tapped and redistributed by unauthorized individuals.

Only sponsors, organizing partners and approved media houses with written consent from New Dawn Boxing Promotion will be allowed to broadcast or record the tournaments under agreed conditions.

The promotion has also indicated that anyone found violating the directive risks being sued through the company’s legal representatives.

Meanwhile, New Dawn Boxing Promotion has encouraged boxing fans and content creators interested in broadcasting the fights to follow proper procedures by obtaining permission and paying the required fees for live streaming or rebroadcasting rights.

The organizers have since appealed to the general public to respect the notice and avoid actions that may lead to legal consequences.
