Four players have been nominated to battle it out for the 2023 TNM Super League player of the season award.
The four are FCB Nyasa Big Bullets midfielder Patrick Mwaungulu, Silver Strikers midfielder Chimwemwe Idana, Dedza Dynamos striker Clement Nyondo and Mighty Tigers goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu.
According to Super League of Malawi (SULOM), soccer fans will vote for a player of their choice by sending as many SMSs as possible after dialing *451# with each message costing K100.
Mwaungulu scored eight goals and nine assists for Bullets in 26 matches. He also won the man-of-the-match award in four matches.
On the part of Idana, he scored eight goals and eight assists in 23 matches for Silver.
He was named man-of-the-match in seven matches.
Nyondo, who won the golden boot award, scored 16 goals in 27 matches.
He won two man-of-the-match awards.
Nyasulu kept 13 clean sheets in 28 matches and was voted man-of-the-match in seven matches.
The winner will be announced during the end of season awards ceremony at a date and venue to be announced.
Nominations for the award are among others done by coaches and captains of clubs from the country’s flagship 16 member league.
