By Staff Reporter

Capital City giants Silver Strikers FC have announced that their newly appointed Head Coach Pieter de Jongh will arrive in the country on Sunday from Netherlands.

According to a statement signed by the club’s Company Secretary Peter Masiye, the coach will arrive at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe at around 7 o’clock in the morning and he will be welcomed by club officials, journalists and supporters.

The team will then hold a press conference alongside the new coach at the team’s club house in Area 47 from 9 o’clock in the morning.

The 53-year-old Dutch-born coach is expected to sign a two-year contract with the club and the contract may be terminated or extended based on the team’s performance and results.

De Jongh takes the place of Leo Mpulula and Etson Kadenge Mwafulirwa who were employed as temporary coaches after the club had fired Zambian coach Daniel Kabwe in July of last year.

The central bankers are the third TNM Super League side to have an expatriate coach following Nyasa Big Bullets who have Zimbabwean Kalisto Pasuwa and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers who employed an English coach Mark Harrison.
