Former Queens goal shooter Mary Waya appointed Netball World Cup analyst

Africa’s largest sports broadcasters, SuperSport have appointed former Malawi National Netball Team goal shooter Mary Waya as an analyst in the upcoming 2023 Vitality Netball World Cup slated for July 28 to August 6,2023 in South Africa.
Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) announced the development on Friday through a facebook congratulatory message.
“Congratulations Mary Waya, Malawi Queens legend for being appointed analyst for World Cup games by Supersport. We are so proud of you.”
At the tournament, Malawi Queens which is in Pool B will start their campaign on Friday July 28 against Scotland before facing England and Barbados respectively.
Born on May 25,1968, Waya is a former National Netball Team player and Coach.
She started playing international-level netball at age 14, and has played in more than 200 representative matches for Malawi.
During her active time, Waya competed in two World Netball Championships (1995 and 2007), three Commonwealth Games (1998, 2006 and 2010), and two World Netball Series (2009 and 2010).
She came to international prominence during the 2007 World Championships in New Zealand, where the Malawian national team (the “Queens”) finished 5th, their highest ever placing.
She was named as the coach of the Tanzania National Netball Team in 2012.
In July 2022, Waya was announced as the new Namibia National Netball Team coach.
