Malawi’s renowned songstress Keturah calling herself a ‘Local girl’ has on Saturday May 27,2023 launched her highly anticipated album recorded in the United States of America(USA) at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre.
The album launch garnered significant attention.
The Keturah’s self-titled album produced by Harlan Steinberger at Hen House Studios in Venice Beach in America is made of 10 songs, featuring many talented musicians based in the US.
Known for her hit tracks such as “Khalidwe ndi Chuma” and “Unditengele ku tawuni,” Keturah was supported by acts of exceptional musicians including Afro Jazz artist Lawi, as well as legends Boniface Ndamela and Giddes Chalamanda.
Adding to the excitement of the evening, the first auctioned CD of Keturah’s album had been purchased for a staggering K2 million million by his ex-manager Pemphero Mphande and Wisely Phiri, CEO of Sparc Systems Limited who released K1.5 million.
Keturah is a female artist who grew up in Mwanza and is currently staying in Chilomoni, Blantyre.
The singer is from a family of guitarists, song writers and music lovers.
Keturah’s attitude and ethic reflects a matter that says anything is possible only if you put your mind to it but above all, PUT GOD FIRST IN EVERYTHING.
Her style of Music is greatly influenced by the great legends of Malawi music, singers like Paul Banda, Gides Chalamanda and many more, including international musicians like Tony Braxton, Tracy Chapman and Dolly Parton.
