Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club have officially announced that their top striker Babatunde Adepoju has left the club after completing his transfer to Venda Football Academy in South Africa.
The development comes days after the TNM Super League and FDH Cup top goal-scorer passed a medical with the club.
Bullets announced on Friday that the 27-year old Nigerian born striker has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the South African National First Division side.
Babatunde, who joined Bullets in the middle of the 2021 season, made 46 appearances for the Ndirande outfit scoring 34 goals and providing ten assists.
During his one-and-a-half-year spell with the People’s Team, Babatunde as he is fondly called by supporters, won Charity Shield, two TNM Super League titles, one Airtel Top 8 Cup and FDH Bank Cup.
The player has since thanked Bullets Management, Coaches, fellow player and Fans for the support they showed him during the time he has been with the club.
In an emotional Facebook post, Babatunde said he will live to remember and cherish all the moments he has been with the club.
“Words fail me, it’s difficult to say bye to a team I loved most and achieved a lot a short period of time.
I believe there is time for everything, and this is another time for me to say bye to Bullets family.
A deal is sealed and I am now a Venda player. My three year deal I signed with Bullets has to be cut short,” he said.
Meanwhile the club has thanked the player for the services he rendered to the club and has since wished him and his family well for the future.
