After showing an impressive performance in the 2023 TNM super league,Chitipa United Football club has on Wednesday received a donation of K2 million from Zambia-based Savenda Group of Companies.
Presenting the cash to the club, Savenda Group of Companies board member, Falless Mpoha Moyo said the donation is a token of appreciation, adding the company will continue supporting the team.
“The team is performing well and we thought it wise to support it so as it continued to do amazing performances,” he said.
On his part, the team’s general secretary Duma Ngoma said the donation is a relief as the team is struggling to provide for the welfare of the players, adding that the team is ready to welcome more sponsors.
“As a team, we are facing a lot of financial difficulties and we thank Savenda for the donation as it will help to ease some of the challenges we are currently facing,” he said.
Chitipa United managed to secure a kit sponsorship from SDE Consulting, and recently clinched a “Player of the Month” sponsorship deal with Mvuma Group of Companies.
The team, which is sitting on position 5 with 13 points, recently won against all odds, in matches against giants Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
