Bullets beat Silver 1-0 to win Kamuzu Day trophy

Nyasa Big Bullets beat Silver Strikers 1-nil in a match played on Sunday at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
The match was arranged to commemorate Malawi’s first president Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda.
Silver dominated possession in both halves but Bullets utilized the opportunity they had to score and win the maiden competition.
The People’s team got their goal through veteran midfielder Henry Kabitchi who scored with a beautiful strike from outside the penalty box after the central bankers failed to clear a Kenneth Pasuwa’s corner-kick.
In the TNM Super League, Ekwendeni Hammers beat Mafco FC 1-0 through Mphatso Magaleta’s second half goal from the penalty spot.
In another match, Chitipa United beat rookies Extreme FC 2-1 courtesy of goals from Stimella Muyira and Rajab Nyirenda while Extreme FC got their consolation from Malide Julius.
The Mchinji-based team is the only TNM Super league side yet to get a win in the top flight and they’re bottom on the log table with a single point from 5 games.
