New MEC commissioners to be sworn in at High Court in Lilongwe

By Burnett Munthali

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is set to usher in a new cohort of commissioners through a formal swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Lilongwe.

According to an official communication, the event will take place at the High Court premises in the capital.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to commence at 11:00 a.m.

However, all attendees are advised to arrive by 10:30 a.m. to ensure timely seating and smooth proceedings.

The event is a crucial step in operationalizing the new appointments, ensuring the commissioners are legally empowered to assume their duties.

This development follows recent changes in the composition of the electoral body, as the country gears up for future electoral processes.
