Preparations for Malawi’s senior women’s national football team, the Scorchers, have received a timely boost after the team received 12 footballs worth K7.2 million from IntoSports.

The donation comes as the Scorchers are finalising their preparations for the 3-Nations Tournament, which will feature Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The competition will run from 28 November to 2 December 2025 at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) commercial director Mayamiko Kafwamba said the support had arrived at a crucial moment.

He described the gesture as encouraging and helpful to the team.

Kafwamba added that IntoSports responded swiftly after receiving the request from FAM, something he said demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting women’s football development in the country.

“We are grateful because they did not delay in assisting us,” said Kafwamba.

On her part, IntoSports senior official Evie Romarin said the company did not hesitate to provide the footballs, noting the impressive progress the Scorchers have made in recent years.

Romarin highlighted that the team’s qualification for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled to take place next year in Morocco, was a major motivation behind their quick response.

She added that IntoSports is proud to be associated with the Scorchers and hopes the support will contribute to improved performance during the upcoming 3-Nations Tournament.
