By Chisomo Phiri

Malawian author Violet Pondakwao, 24, has unveiled her second book, Unmasking a Woman, a guide designed to help men better understand women’s thoughts and desires while empowering women to embrace their identity and purpose.

In an interview with 247 Malawi News, Pondakwao shared that her inspiration for the book came from the positive reception of her debut work, *From a Girl to a Lady*, which focused on women’s issues. Noticing a growing curiosity among men about the female perspective, she decided to write a book that bridges the gap between genders.

Published in May this year, Unmasking a Woman is now available for purchase. Interested readers can contact Pondakwao directly via her phone number: +265 987 731 252.

Reflecting on Malawi’s literary landscape, Pondakwao acknowledged the industry’s growth but expressed concern over declining reading habits due to increasing digital distractions. She also highlighted the importance of self-discovery among youth, stating that understanding one’s identity and purpose could help reduce suicidal tendencies in the country.
