Malawi Congress Party (MCP) national campaign director, Moses Kunkuyu, says the party is breaking barriers of perception that the southern region is a stronghold for opposition political parties.
Kunkuyu made the declaration today in Mulanje when he welcomed two councilors who have defected from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
He said this demonstrates people’s confidence in president Lazarus Chakwera’s leadership.
Chrissy Magombo Matemba of Mulomba ward in Mulanje and Alexander Cosmas Nkhoma from Mlombwa ward in Machinga district are now serving under MCP.
