Muvi wa Chilungamo expresses fear that Malawi will soon be bankrupt

By Vincent Gunde

President of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, has expressed fears that the devaluation of the Malawi Kwacha by 44 percent is following the path taken by Zimbabwe and Argentina and that very soon, the country will be declared bankrupt.

Jumah observes that since 2020, the Malawi Congress Party (MCP)-led government has been devaluing the Malawi Kwacha in secret claiming that it is the first government to be doing that in 3 years and with 44 percent, the MCP has devalued the Kwacha by 84 percent.

He disagreed with some other commentators who are praising the government for the devaluation arguing that devaluation is evil and that Malawians should expect a new K10,000, K20,000 and K50,000 banknote if allowing the MCP to continue ruling the country to 2025.

Speaking through his face book page widely followed by millions of people in Malawi and Africa, Jumah has since urged Malawians that if they are independent, this is the time to rise up and not waiting for their country to be declared bankrupt as Zimbabwe and Argentina.

He says Malawi is being led by political hooligans who after vandalizing the country’s economy they rush to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank for rescue getting an advice to devalue the currency for more loans to the country.

He says the IMF culture of letting African countries devalue their currencies for their economies to go on track, has killed many countries including Malawi warning Malawians that they have been enslaved by the IMF dancing to its tune.

The MRP President has advised Minister of Finance Simplex Chithyola Banda not to address Malawians on the Kwacha devaluation by 44 percent saying Malawians are angry and no one will listen to him but addressing his President at the State House.

He has also advised radio stations not to air and broadcast Chithyola Banda’s address to the nation claiming that if Malawi had a listening President he would have come to the people first to hear their opinions on the devaluation.

“There is no nation that Chithyola will address, Malawians are in pain and anger, don’t continue to anger them through a useless address,” says Jumah.

He says Muvi wa Chilungamo is in support of activists who are mobilizing one another to hold demonstrations in Malawi against the devaluation of the Malawi Kwacha and demanding elections to be held in May, 2024 not September, 2025.

Jumah, has finally advised Malawians not to lose hope assuring them that Muvi wa Chilungamo is finding mechanism that can remove a political hooligan government of the MCP and replace it with a political patriotic government.
