Atoht Manje no more

Death has been announced of Musician Atoht Manje, real name Elias Missi.
Reports suggest after a music show at Livingstonia University in the wee hours of today, the ‘Phone Ya A Bea’ hit maker told his friends that he was not feeling well.
He then went into his car to rest.
While there, he fainted and was pronounced dead upon arrival at hospital.
Some artists are already sharing their tributes to the artist on social media platforms.
“I am extremely shocked and heartbroken. Death is so cruel .
“Ndamva kuwawa Malume as you always called me.
May your precious soul rest in peace Malume,”writes gospel musician Thocco Katimba on his Facebook page.
Musician Billy Kaunda writes:” Saddened to hear the death of musician, Atoht Manje. My condolences to the family, friends, music fraternity, and the whole nation of Malawi. Anthu a luso komanso a chinyamata akamamwalira zimakhala zopweteka kwambiri.
“Mzimu wake uuse mu mtendere.”
Other songs by the once celebrated dancehall artist include Che-Patuma, Munthu, Kunong’a, Huwa, Ndalama, Zili Bwino, Mwana Phuliphuli,and Tizipepese.
On October 12 this year, Manje was set to be the headline artist during the launch of Joseph Zalinga’s ‘Chiovololo’ CD Launch in Mchinji.
