Chizuma to testify in the Buleya Lule’s murder

Reports reaching this publication indicate that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma is this morning expected to testify in her previous role as Ombudsman in the murder case of Buleya Lule.

According to valid information in circulation,the case is expected to start at 9 o’clock in the High Court before Justice Chifundo Kachale in Lilongwe.

Chizuma will be an additional witness for the first suspect in the matter Paul Chipole.



The ACB Chief was part of the team of the Malawi Human Rights Commission(MHRC) that probed the mysterious death of Lule following a complaint from his relatives that the deceased was assaulted by the police before he died.

The MHRC report established that Lule who was a suspect in the abduction of a 14-year-old boy with albinism in Dedza then, was tortured while in police custody in 2019.

Currently,ten police officers are answering charges related to the murder of Lule.
