Blantyre set for music-filled weekend as Tay Grin, Teddy Makadi headline Blues Bar shows

Fun seekers in Blantyre are in for an action packed weekend as top Malawian artists Tay Grin and Teddy Makadi prepare to headline back-to-back performances at Blues Bar.
The two shows, scheduled for Friday and Saturday respectively, are expected to draw large crowds from across the commercial city and beyond.
According to organisers, DJ Kenny Entertainment, the events have been branded as “Fire Friday” and “Makadi Night” to give each artist a unique platform.
They say the decision to host the performances on separate days is deliberate, aimed at giving fans enough time to fully enjoy each show without feeling rushed.

The organisers have also highlighted that this format allows patrons to experience longer sets from their favourite artists, unlike the usual brief appearances.
Speaking in an interview, the promoters said fans will have the chance to request songs and interact more closely with the performers throughout the night.
“This is about giving value to the fans. We want people to feel the music and connect with the artists in a more meaningful way,” reads part of the statement.
Tay Grin, known for his energetic stage presence and hit songs, is expected to ignite the stage on Friday with a performance packed with fan favourites.
On the other hand, Teddy Makadi will take over on Saturday, bringing his smooth Afro-pop vibes that have earned him a strong following in recent years.
