Learners at First Class Academy in Kawale, Lilongwe, have been urged to prioritise their education and mental well-being to succeed in life.
Director of the My Community, My Responsibility initiative, Brian Khembo, made the call on Thursday during an engagement with students aimed at equipping them with knowledge on key adolescent issues.

Youth Advocate Miracle Nakhuwala, emphasised the importance of staying focused in school while taking deliberate steps to safeguard mental health, describing mental wellness as critical to both academic success and personal development.
The session, which drew from the Puberty Book for Girls and Boys, tackled topics such as gender-based violence, cyberbullying among girls and boys, mental health challenges, child abuse, and menstrual health and hygiene.
First Class Academy Headteacher, Dawn Moffat, commended the initiative, saying such engagements are essential in shaping well-rounded students.
As part of the initiative, the team distributed 126 copies of the Puberty Book for Girls and Boys to the students, with support from the Forum for African Women Educationalists in Malawi (FAWEMA).
