The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) on Saturday held a political rally in the Kasangadzi area of Dowa District, a region that was recently demarcated as part of the upcoming electoral boundary changes.

Senior party officials, including MCP’s Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda, were in attendance at the highly anticipated event.

The rally took place at Tchawale Primary School, drawing a large crowd of party supporters and community members eager to hear from the MCP leadership.

The Kasangadzi area, which was newly established through electoral boundary adjustments, is gaining political attention ahead of the 2025 general elections.

During the event, the MCP reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots engagement and unveiled its parliamentary candidate for the area.

George Jivasoni Kadzipatike, who also serves as the party’s chief legal advisor, has been positioned to represent MCP as the Member of Parliament for the Kasangadzi constituency.

Kadzipatike’s candidacy was warmly received by the attendees, many of whom expressed optimism about the development prospects under his leadership.

Party officials used the opportunity to rally support for the MCP, highlighting its achievements and future plans for the area and the nation at large.

The gathering also served as a platform to strengthen party structures in the newly formed constituency and to encourage unity among members.

As the 2025 elections approach, such meetings are expected to intensify as political parties gear up their campaigns and solidify their base across the country.
