Msonda on DPP’s neck

By Chisomo Phiri
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Deputy Publicity Secretary Ken Msonda has dismissed the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)’s criticism of the current state of affairs in the country, labeling it as ‘malice’ and ‘bitterness’ stemming from the party’s loss in the previous elections.
Msonda’s response comes after DPP National Women Director Mary Navicha claimed that Malawians are suffering under the MCP-led government, citing growing challenges such as hunger and high cost of living.

Navicha urged voters to support Professor Peter Mutharika in the upcoming elections.
However, Msonda emphasizes that President Lazarus Chakwera remains focused on serving the people and strengthening the party’s structures ahead of the September 16 polls.
He has expressed confidence that the people will trust the MCP with a fresh mandate, rejecting the DPP’s claims as baseless and driven by hatred.
The MCP official has further described the DPP as a ‘criminal enterprise’ that is disgruntled and bitter about its loss of power.
