Bushiri blasts Ndlozi: “Leave me alone—Malawians know why I’m rich

By Burnett Munthali

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has hit back at South African political figure Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi following comments made during a public lecture held in Malawi.

Bushiri expressed astonishment at hearing that Dr. Ndlozi attended the lecture and posed the question, “Why am I rich?”

He questioned the relevance of such a query in a public political gathering, wondering how he had even become a topic of discussion.

In a strongly worded response, Bushiri accused Dr. Ndlozi of jealousy and of harboring xenophobic tendencies.

He further asked why politicians like Ndlozi couldn’t simply leave him alone, expressing frustration over the continued scrutiny he faces.

Bushiri did not mince words when he described the persistent attacks against him as driven by hate.

He labeled Ndlozi’s question regarding his wealth as nonsensical and devoid of merit.

He reminded Ndlozi and others that he had already endured bullying in South Africa and would not tolerate the same treatment in his own country.

Bushiri rebuked the idea that Malawians could be influenced by foreign politicians to question his wealth, arguing that his compatriots are not naive.

He then posed a rhetorical question suggesting that Ndlozi’s line of attack may stem from a betrayal of his political ally and fellow South African leader, Julius Malema.

The Malawian prophet advised Dr. Ndlozi to remain within the scope of political discourse rather than launching personal attacks.

To address the question directly, Bushiri declared that Malawians are well aware of the origins of his wealth.

He asserted that he is rich because he is actively involved in poverty alleviation and job creation efforts.

Citing evidence of his contributions, Bushiri claimed to have created over 5,000 jobs in the past year alone.

These employment opportunities, he explained, were generated through his farming ventures and the ambitious Goshen City project.

He concluded his statement by questioning Dr. Ndlozi’s own accomplishments back in South Africa.

With this fiery rebuttal, Bushiri aimed to silence critics and reaffirm his standing both as a businessman and a philanthropist in Malawi.

His response has reignited public debate about the role of religious figures in politics, national pride, and foreign influence in domestic affairs.

As the discourse continues, one thing is clear: Prophet Bushiri is not willing to stand by silently while his name is dragged into political squabbles.
