UTM President, Dr. Dalitso Kabambe, has embarked on a nationwide research initiative aimed at understanding the needs and expectations of Malawians ahead of the country’s upcoming elections. Dr. Kabambe, who is positioning UTM as the party of choice for governance, stated that his engagements with citizens will shape the party’s manifesto for the next administration.
Speaking on the sidelines of a Catholic Mass service at M’busa Wabwino Church in Nsanje, Dr. Kabambe emphasized that UTM’s approach to governance will be citizen-driven, ensuring that policies directly respond to people’s concerns.

“We are moving across different districts to gather first-hand information on what people expect from UTM when we form the next government. This research will help us develop a realistic and impactful manifesto that truly represents the needs of Malawians,” he said.
He further reiterated his confidence in UTM’s electoral prospects, stating that the party is committed to bringing meaningful change to Malawi’s governance system.
During the Mass service, Dr. Kabambe participated in prayers alongside other congregants and pledged to support the church’s ongoing infrastructure projects. He specifically promised to assist in purchasing new chairs for the congregation, demonstrating UTM’s commitment to community development and social welfare.
The church leadership welcomed his gesture, saying that such contributions play a crucial role in improving places of worship and strengthening ties between political leaders and religious institutions.
As UTM continues its consultations, Dr. Kabambe has assured Malawians that his party is dedicated to delivering policies that promote economic growth, job creation, and improved public services. He maintains that listening to people’s concerns is key to building a responsive and accountable government.
With the general elections approaching, Dr. Kabambe’s nationwide engagements signal UTM’s readiness to contest for power, with the party aiming to position itself as the best alternative for Malawians seeking economic and social transformation.
Malawians will be eagerly waiting to see how UTM’s manifesto develops from these engagements and whether the party will secure their trust in the upcoming elections.
