Ivyone Kalimona becomes first female inmate to make it to university

Ivyone Kalimona from Zomba Prison has made history by becoming the first female inmate to be selected to the university.
Kalimona has been selected to Mzuzu University (MZUNI) to study Bachelor of Science in Water Resources Engineering and Management.
This is according to the recent university selection list released by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
In total,Prison Reform Schools have sent five candidates to different public universities in the country of which 4 are males.
Below are the names of the four male inmates selected to various universities:
2. Paul Tembo from Lilongwe Prison: Bachelor of Arts Humanities at University of Malawi
3. Godrick Nkhoma from Mzimba Prison: Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Religious Studies at Mzuzu University
4. Austin Chisuse from Blantyre Prison: Bachelor of Education (English Linguistic) at Domasi College of Education
5. George Chipwanthe from Blantyre Prison: Bachelor of Education (History and Social Studies) at Domasi College of Education
