President Dr Chakwera back home from Namibia

Malawi leader President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has arrived in the country from Namibia.
Chakwera arrived home through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA).
President Dr Chakwera and Madam Monica Chakwera left Malawi for Namibia a few days ago where he went to attend the burial ceremony of Namibian president Dr Hage Geingob who passed away on 4 February, 2024, a month after announcing that he is battling with cancer.
Chakwera left Windhoek, Namibia for Malawi this after noon after attending the burial ceremony of late Namibian president Hage Geingob.
Speaking to Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) on departure in Windhoek According Dr Chakwera said the state funeral in Namibia brought to the fore the unity that exists in the region and beyond.
He said having over 40 heads of state in attendance clearly showed the quality of a man that Dr Geingob was.
He said the death of Dr Geingob has also highlighted how democracy is maturing in the SADC region and Africa as a whole, looking at the smooth transfer of power in Namibia.
He said while at the funeral, he also had a chance to engage other leaders on various issues.
These other issues included holding bilateral relations with the South African President, Crill Ramaphosa.
