Just like the Saudi-Africa summit, this is an equally important gathering where African Heads of State are to exchange trade ideas and position their countries for trade opportunities.

According to the AFREXIMBANK President, Benedict Orama, the IATF2023 is a premier for business opportunities as it draws together a broad range of programmes and initiatives being implemented by Afreximbank to facilitate inter africa trade.

It was important therefore that the Malawi Head of State attends the event as it is coming at a critical juncture when his government is championing the need for Malawi to produce more products from agriculture for exports.

Speaking when he was departing for Saudi and Egypy, President Chakwera said the quest for producing more will need readily available markets such as the IATF and the trade Fair will provide a platform for Malawi to explore new Markets.

He said: “Trade in Africa is exremly needed at this stage and we need to trade more so that we dont rely on aid. To do that, we have to produce quality products.”

President Chakwera is determined to change Malawi’s fortunes through trade.
