Chakwera to unlock funds for Mangochi-Makanjira road in Saudi Arabia

President Lazarus McCarthy will fly to Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt Wednesday to attend the First Saudi-Africa Summit and the 5th Arab-Africa Summit respectively.
According to the communication from the Minister of Information and Digitisation, Moses Kunkuyu, President Chakwera is expected to depart on Wednesday.
According to the communication from the Ministry, Presidemt Chakwera’s historic visit to the Saudi Kingdom is important as the Malawi leader will witness the signing of the loan agreement between Malawi and the Saudi Fund for Development finaciers of the construction of the Mangochi-Makanjira road to tune of $20 million.
He said: “I am pleased to inform the nation that His Excellency the State President is expected to witness the signing of the loan agreement between Malawi and the Saudi Fund for International Development on the financing of the of the construction of the Mangochi-Makanjira Road Project to the tune of of $20 million.”
The signing ceremony will also be graced by Sultan Al Marshad Chief Executive Officer the Saudi Fund for Development whom he will hold a one-on-one discussion with before the agreement.
President Chakwera is also expected to meet Yaser Bin Othman Al Rumayyan, Chairman of the Saudi Arabia Oil Group and Maedem Mining and Fertilizer company.
From Saudi Arabia President Chakwera will proceed to Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt to attend the 5th AFREXIMBANK Intra-African Trade summit scheduled on 13th November.
