In fulfilment of the last campaign promise, Minister of Water and Sanitation, Abida Sidik Mia who is also legislator for Chikwawa Nkombedzi, Abida Sidik Mia has officially handed over another health facility, Saopa Under Five Clinic.
In her speech during the colourful ceremony, Mia said she decided to embark on the community demanded project over concerns of increased maternal fatalities in the area.
She further said, before the new structure was built, the communities were using a dilapidated shelter as a makeshift Under Five.
According to Mia, the facility will greatly improve maternal health situation among people from the 18 villages under Group Village Headman Saopa.
The project was funded with over K28 Million, drawn from Constituency Development Fund.
