Malawi’s Youthful politician and Hip-hop heavyweight Fredokiss real name Penjani Kalua has expressed excitement over President Lazarus Chakwera’s mercy by pardoning 200 prisoners including a 19-year-old Mussa John from Prison.
Mussa was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment after being convicted for being found in possession of Indian Hemp locally known as Chamba.
Chakwera on Monday pardoned 200 prisoners as part of Easter Holidays celebration.
In an interview, Fredokiss described Mussa’s release as a win for the youth.
“As youths we are very happy and thankful to God and the President for pardoning Mussa.
“It is encouraging to note that the President has now started listening to issues that affect young people.
“We hope this goes beyond just addressing ‘selective justice’, otherwise this is victory and the whole country is celebrating,” he said.
Fredokiss last year, led a movement that went into the streets seeking Mussa’s release from prison.
