ACB to query Mutharika on TIPN allegations

As the part of on-goi g investigation into the allegations of the former President’ Tax Payer Identification Number ( TIPN), the graft bursting body, Anti-Corruption Bureau ( ACB) says it will tomorrow February 10,2023 interview former President Arthur Peter Mutharika over the matter.
In a memo signed by ACB Principal Publications Relations Officer Egrita Ndala, says the action is a normal and legal process which started in 2020 and that the bureau will put the record straight on the various stories circulating in social media surrounding the matter.
It is alleged that between 2018 and 2019, the former president’s TIPN was used to import 1.2 million bags of cement worth K5.1 billion duty free.
His personal bodyguard Norman Chisale is also said to have benefited from the deal.
