MISA Malawi mourns veteran Media trainer Grey Mang’anda*

MISA Malawi says it is deeply saddened and shocked with the death of veteran media trainer Grey Mang’anda who died in Blantyre on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
In a statement, MISA through it’s Chairperson Teresa Ndanga says late Mang’anda will be remembered for providing excellent academic leadership and being one of the pioneers of journalism studies at the University level in Malawi.
The media body adds that Mang’anda believed in professional and quality journalism and taught many to always aim for the best.
“Our condolences go to the Mang’anda family and the media fraternity.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace.
“We will dearly miss him.” reads the statement.
Between 1999 and 2012, late Mang’anda worked as a senior lecturer in the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at the Malawi Polytechnic (now Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences-MUBAS) serving as the Dean of Education and Media Studies in the process.
In 2013, he acted as Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Civic Education where he also served as the Director of Information.
He also worked as Chief of Protocol in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Until his death, Mang’anda was the Dean of Academics and Lecturer in Journalism at the Blantyre International University (BIU).
