Veteran Journalist Limbani Moya has died
The Malawi Media fraternity is today mourning the death of one of their own , veteran journalist Limbani Moya
Moya passed away Thursday afternoon at Mwaiwathu Hospital in Blantyre. Until his death, He was a Broadcasting Monitoring Officer at the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (Macra).
Writing his tribute on his facebook page , another journalist Gracian Tukula said “Moya death is devastating, but I count myself lucky to have met and known him. Most importantly, I consider myself very privileged to have learned the trade under his wings. A humble, open and generous character who will be sorely missed”.
Another veteran journalist Bright Sonani Wrote “Not you Limbani, this is very sad. May Your Good Soul Rest in Peace my mentor, teacher and boss from day one in the newsroom, and you remained such long after.”
Deguzman Kaminjolo, also one of the veteran journalist paid his tribute saying “There was Jika Nkolokosa (Jiks) Rankin Nyekanyeka (Abetha) Chinyeke Tembo (man child) and now the great sons of the pen have been joined by Limbani Moya (FBI) in our Lord’s glory. Your death leaves me cold. You fought back from a debalating kidney failure añd your resolve to live was of great inspiration. I will forever mourn and the rest of the the scribes on whose shoulders we continue to stand to this day. Rest well FBI”
Born in 1968 , Moyo has seen has mentored most of the journalist in Malawi due to his role as an editor in some of Malawi’s media houses. Details of his funeral will be announced later
