He further stated that farmers purchasing fertiliser for commercial purposes will pay K90,000 per 50-kilogram bag, which will be available from Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

On the ongoing fuel shortages, Chakwera assured Malawians that the situation caused by what he described as ‘a few unscrupulous individuals’ within the National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) opposed to the Government-to-Government (G2G) procurement process is being resolved.

He said 240 fuel trucks are expected to arrive in the coming days, with fuel availability expected to normalize across the country by Saturday.

The president stressed that those responsible for frustrating fuel procurement have been identified and will be dismissed from their positions by the end of the election period.

Chakwera reaffirmed his determination to serve Malawians, saying that neither his resolve nor his spirit to fight for the people will be broken by a few unpatriotic individuals.
