Malawi Vice President engages UNDP to strengthen development partnerships

Vice President Dr. Jane Mayemu Ansah, SC, JA (Retired), met with UNDP Resident Representative Ms. Fenella Frost at Capital Hill in Lilongwe in a courtesy call aimed at reinforcing development cooperation.
The meeting provided a platform for both leaders to assess ongoing projects and identify new areas for collaboration between Malawi and UNDP.
Key discussions focused on supporting national priorities under the Malawi 2063 Agenda, including governance, social protection, resilience, and sustainable development initiatives.

Ms. Frost reaffirmed UNDP’s commitment to assisting Malawi in implementing programmes that strengthen institutions and empower communities across the country.
She noted that UNDP remains dedicated to ensuring that its interventions deliver meaningful and sustainable outcomes.
Vice President Ansah expressed appreciation for UNDP’s continued partnership and highlighted the organisation’s important role in supporting Malawi’s development trajectory.
She emphasised that coordinated and strategic cooperation is essential for achieving the nation’s long-term growth and social transformation goals.
The discussions also explored innovative approaches to enhance the impact of development programmes in line with Malawi’s national priorities.
Both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining strong collaboration to accelerate progress and deliver tangible benefits to Malawians.
The courtesy call concluded with a shared commitment to advance initiatives that will help Malawi achieve the aspirations set out in its 2063 vision.
