President Mutharika Commits to Nationwide Maize Distribution

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing food insecurity across the country, stating that no Malawian should go hungry.
Speaking in Lilongwe on Tuesday, the President announced that the government will begin maize distribution in 11 districts declared disaster areas before extending the exercise to all 28 districts nationwide.

He urged members of his party to work diligently to meet the needs of the people, emphasizing unity and service. Mutharika also expressed his gratitude to the people of the Central Region for their support during the elections, noting he was humbled by the 750,000 votes he received.

His visit was met with enthusiasm as large crowds gathered to welcome him.
