A dark cloud has descended upon Malawi, as five young lives full of exceptional talent, immense potential, and boundless energy were tragically cut short in a road accident in Ntcheu district.

The Second Vice President, Enoch Chihana, received the news with profound sadness and deep pain, lamenting the loss of the young artists who brought joy and unity to the nation through their music.

The departed souls, Elivacy Muyaba, Ralph Chitsonga, MacFarlane Banda, Jue Kapengule, and Vincent Nkwinda, were not just artists, but creative forces whose energy, artistry, and contribution to Malawi’s cultural landscape and socioeconomic development will be deeply missed.

The Second Vice President and the Second Lady, Tadala Hannah Chihana, join the State President, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, in extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, friends, and the entire art industry, acknowledging the immense loss suffered by the nation.

To Eli Njuchi, the leader of the Hive Band, the nation stands in solidarity, sharing in his grief and pain, recognizing that the loss is not his alone, but a national tragedy.

The memories and talents of the departed artists will inspire the nation to cherish the gift of life, celebrate the power of music to unite and heal, and hold firmly to faith in these trying times.

May the Lord comfort the families and loved ones of the deceased, and grant them eternal peace, as the nation mourns the loss of these talented young artists.
