Bushiri and Goshen City Donate K100 Million to Support Dorothy Kingstone & Film Association of Malawi Awards

In a remarkable show of support for the local arts and film industry, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, together with Goshen City, has donated 100 million Malawian Kwacha to Dorothy Kingstone and the Film Association of Malawi (FAMA).

The generous contribution was announced ahead of this weekend’s awards ceremonies, aimed at recognizing and celebrating outstanding achievements in the Malawian film and entertainment sector.

The funds are intended to ensure smooth execution of the awards, covering aspects such as venue arrangements, logistics and prizes for winners.

Dorothy Kingstone president of   Malawi Film Association, expressed her gratitude for the support, noting that such contributions play a critical role in uplifting local talent and promoting creative arts.

“This support will allow us to focus on celebrating our filmmakers and artists without worrying about financial constraints,” Kingstone said.

She also highlighted that the donation would help enhance the quality and prestige of the awards.

The Film Association of Malawi, which has been actively working to promote the growth of the film industry in the country, welcomed the donation as a milestone in the development of the sector.

Bushiri, through Goshen City, has been involved in various philanthropic activities across Malawi, particularly in initiatives that empower local communities and support cultural development.

The donation is expected to boost participation from artists across the country, as well as encourage upcoming talent to aspire to greater achievements in film and entertainment.
