Minister of Information Shadric Namalomba has emphasized that government primary and secondary schools are the ones where students are not required to pay examination fees.

His remarks come shortly after Ntchisi South MP Peter Gamula urged the government to also remove examination fees in non-government schools.

MP Gamula highlighted that students in private primary and secondary schools often face financial challenges and deserve government support.

Recently, President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika announced that, starting next year on 1 January, all government primary and secondary schools will be tuition-free.

The move is part of the government’s broader plan to improve access to education and reduce the financial burden on families.

Minister Namalomba’s statement reaffirms that government schools will continue to provide free education, ensuring that children from all backgrounds can pursue learning without financial barriers.
