Nyasa Big Bullets Fined and Handed Stadium Ban Following Fan Violence

By Wadza Botomani
The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has sanctioned Nyasa Big Bullets with a MK1 million fine and a suspended ban from using Kamuzu Stadium. This disciplinary action comes after violent incidents involving the team’s supporters during their match against Karonga United on the 10th of last month.

The match, which ended in a 3-3 draw, was followed by unrest as dissatisfied Bullets fans vandalized the team’s bus. In its ruling, SULOM stated that the stadium ban will be suspended for three months. The ban will only be activated if the club is found guilty of a similar offense within that period.
The club has been ordered to pay the fine before its next TNM Super League match. The sanctions are intended to hold the club accountable for the conduct of its supporters and to prevent future incidents of violence.
