When Honourable Mwanamvekha arrived, accompanied by the party’s Regional Governor for the South, Honourable Charles Mchacha, the crowd erupted in cheers and chants, giving them a thunderous welcome.

The electric atmosphere highlighted the DPP’s enduring support base in Bangwe, an area historically regarded as one of the party’s strongholds.

In his address, Mwanamvekha emphasized the DPP’s commitment to rebuilding Malawi’s economy, promising responsible leadership, job creation, and restoration of investor confidence.

He also accused the current administration of failing to address the soaring cost of living and deteriorating public services.

Mwanamvekha assured the crowd that the DPP was united and ready to reclaim government in the upcoming elections.

Regional Governor Charles Mchacha, known for his charismatic style, also took to the podium to rally the supporters and stress the importance of grassroots unity.

He described Bangwe as “the heartbeat of the DPP in the south,” drawing applause from the charged audience.

The mega rally, which attracted party loyalists from across Blantyre and beyond, was seen as a show of strength and a message to political rivals that the DPP is far from being a spent force.

As the sun set over Desert Ground, chants of “DPP Boma 2025!” echoed, signaling a renewed political momentum in the southern region.

Observers noted that the rally could mark the beginning of more aggressive campaign activities by the DPP in the months ahead.
