Diaz made the call during a panel discussion held in Mzuzu as part of the World Press Freedom Day celebrations, themed “Media for an Informed Electorate.” The event brought together media practitioners, academics, and stakeholders to discuss the critical role of the media in promoting democracy and good governance.

According to Diaz, a professional and responsible media is essential for ensuring that citizens are well-informed about the electoral process and the issues that affect their lives.
