Kabwila praises MSG for excellence in human resource development

Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Jessie Kabwila, has hailed the Malawi School of Government (MSG) and its graduating class for their crucial role in strengthening the country’s human capital and contributing to the Malawi 2063 vision which aims at achieving inclusive wealth creation and national self-reliance.
Speaking at the institution’s second graduation ceremony at the Kanengo Campus in Lilongwe on Friday,Kabwila commended the institution for its strategic focus on human resource development for the public and private sectors.

The minister acknowledged MSG’s collaborative efforts with government departments to develop capacity-building programs aligned with national priorities.
She emphasized the importance of maintaining academic quality and integrity, applauding MSG’s accreditation by the National Council for Higher Education(NCHE ).
Kabwila urged institutions of higher learning to uphold stringent quality assurance standards and warned against academic mediocrity.
On her part,MSG Director General, Professor Asiyati Lorraine Chiweza, highlighted the institution’s commitment to enhancing service delivery through innovation, research, and a hybrid higher education system.
Chiweza announced the establishment of the MSG Research Fund and the recruitment of additional staff to improve service delivery, in line with President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s directives.
She also emphasized MSG’s compliance with tax and labor regulations, underscoring the institution’s dedication to excellence and accountability.
The second MSG graduation was held under the theme’ celebrating professionalism and excellence, shaping ethical leaders for a better Malawi’.
