UTM youth urged to follow Chilima’s legacy of peace not violence

The United Transformation Movement (UTM) Director of Youth Penjani Kalua also known as Fredokiss has urged the party’s youth members to avoid violence as the country mourns the late Vice President Dr.Saulos Chilima who is being laid to rest today in Nsipe, Ntcheu.
Speaking at a press briefing, Kalua emphasised that UTM is not a violent party and called on UTM youth to embody the spirit and character of the late Vice President Saulos Chilima to maintain peace in the country.
He also said no UTM youth should resort to violence during this time of mourning for the late Vice President.
Briefing the media at Nsipe Primary School in Ntcheu, UTM national director of youth Penjani Kalua said peace is critical to national development.
Said Kalua: “Our generation agenda is to use ideas. SKC had a vision, an agenda not violence.When we’re calling for peace it’s not a sign of weakness. Our agenda is on ideas, not blood.”
Chilima died in a military plane crash alongside 8 others on Monday June 10, 2024 in Chikangawa Forest in Mzimba.
