Unemployed nurses give Govt two-week ultimatum to address their concern
By Chisomo Phiri
The frustrated unemployed nurses on Friday gave the government a two-week ultimatum to address their concerns and threatens to take further action if nothing is done.
The nurses held peaceful demonstrations in the commercial city of Blantyre to deliver their petition over the issue.
They revealed plans to hold joint vigils with teachers under IPTE 13-17 at the State House.
But in his reaction after receiving the petition, Blantyre District Council’s Director of Administration, Redgeson Mkolombwe said the council will send the letter to relevant authorities for appropriate action.
Currently, there are 2,260 unemployed nurses in Malawi.
