AFREMIX Bank pays for Chakwera’s trip to Ghana

President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera is attending the 30th annual Annual African Import-Export and Summit in Accra, Ghana.

Meanwhile, State House has revealed that President Chakwera’s trip and accomodation expenses during his stay in the West African country has been paid by the AFREMIX Bank.

According to the report by the Malawi Broadcasting Cooperation (MBC), State House Press Secretary Anthony Kasunda has indicated that the bank has also catered for President Chakwera’s plane he used to travel to the summit.

“The trip has been paid for. The bank chartered a plane and it has also paid for his accomodation,” said Kasunda

Meanwhile President Chakwera has already held a one-on-one discussion with President of AFREMIX Bank Benedict Oramah in Accra on the sideline of the summit.

Held under the theme “Delivering the Vision. Bulding prosperity for Africans” the four day summit has come at an opportune time for Malawi as President Chakwera has embarked on a journey to promote Agriculture, Tourism and Mining in a quest to boost the country’s trade.

Founded in 1993 by African governments and some private institutions, AFREXIM bank was estsblished to finance and promote intra-African trade.
