Police in Nsanje are looking for a woman who has abandoned her one month old baby.
According to spokesperson for Nsanje Police Station Agness Zalakoma, the incident happened yesterday around 3pm at Tengani Camp stage in the district.
Zalakoma says the matter was reported to police by Mercy Kabudula, who met the mother of the baby in a minbus from Mulanje to Limbe.
“The two dropped in Limbe and boarded another minbus together on their way to Nsanje,” she says.
She further says when the minbus stopped at Tengani stage, the suspected woman asked Kabudula to hold her baby while she ought to answer a call and she never came back.
Meanwhile,the baby is being kept at Nsanje District Hospital awaiting the police officers in the District to apprehend the suspect.
