Chakwera warmly welcomed by Royal Family ahead of King Charles coronation

President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera is in London, United Kingdom for the coronation of King Charles the Third.
Upon arrival at Heathrow International Airport, President Chakwera was welcomed by some high ranking officials from the British Royal Family and a delegation from the Malawi Embassy in the United Kingdom led by Thomas Bisika Malawi High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and his Deputy Justice Agness Patemba.
Beside attending the coronation, President Chakwera is expected to have several engagements with business captains and other foreign dignitaries.
President Chakwera is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with other Heads of State aimed at fostering diplomatic and trade ties with a number of countries.
Additionally, the Malawi State President will attend the Commonwealth High-Level event in London.
Writing about the trip on his Facebook page, President Chakwera stressed the need for Commonwealth member countries in particular and the world at large to come together and celebrate the British monarch whose influence touches every corner of the world.
“Malawi, as a member of Commonwealth, joins the British people in celebrating traditions and rituals around their monarch,” he said.
King Charle’s coronation attendance will be strictly by invitation. President Chakwera is among 202 global leaders who have been invited to attend.
