Mtambo has pleaded with CSOs, the donor community and development partners to pull more resources towards civic education in order to support achievement of the Mw2063 development blueprint.
Minister Mtambo has also called on the CSOs to do more in civic educating the Malawi population on various issues of national importance such as on mindset change, rights and freedoms, anti-corruption, electoral justice and reforms, governance, transparency and accountability. The Minister also said that the Government alone cannot manage to carry out adequate civic education and mindset change interventions throughout the entire country due to lack of resources and other various challenges.
Minister Mtambo was speaking this in Mzimba where he was a guest of honour at a workshop organized by NICE Trust aimed at ending violence against the elderly.
The Ministry of National Unity is questionably one of the least funded though it holds mindset change as one the key pillars in the Mw2063 development blue print.
