Chakwera’s new list of diplomats confirmed by PAC
Six heads of mission that President Chakwera appointed have been confirmed by the Public Appointments Committee (PAC) and announced .
PAC chairperson, Joyce Chitsulo, said “the committee has approved six heads of mission.”. The other remaining names will go before the committee in the coming few weeks
Dr. Thomas John Bisika to London, England. Bisika is a politician, demographer and public health specialist and served as a United Nations and African Union diplomat. Prior to his appointment, he was Director of International Affairs for the ruling Malawi Congress Party.
Mr. Charles Peter Msosa to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Msosa is not new to diplomacy having served as Permanent Representative to the United Nations under the DPP government. He held the office principal secretary for Ministry of Lands, Homeland Security, office of Vice President, Education, Energy and OPC among many public service posts. He joined the civil service in 1983 as a management analyst.
Dr. Agnes Mary Chimbiri to New York, USA. Prior to her appointment, Chimbiri worked at the UNDP as Portfolio Manager / Assistant Resident Representative.
Ms. Esme Janet Chombo to Washington DC, USA. High Court Judge famous for handling high profile Cashgate cases involving former Budget Director Paul Mphwiyo and others. Chombo who joined the judiciary in 1986 also handled the Madonna adoption case involving Mercy James.
Mr. Allan Joseph Chimtedza to Beijing and Ms. Stella Hauya Ndau to Pretoria, South Africa.
