President Lazarus Chakwera has assured farmers in Mzimba that agricultural inputs will be distributed before the first rains this year, addressing delays that affected productivity in the past season. Speaking at Euthini Trading Centre in Traditional Authority Chindi, Chakwera acknowledged the region’s farming potential but noted that late access to inputs had hindered yields. “Processes are already underway to ensure inputs arrive on time,” he stated.

Chakwera also addressed infrastructure challenges, pledging to improve road conditions to ease the transportation of goods. A contractor has been identified to continue work on the Ezondweni road. Additionally, recognizing the district’s vastness, he promised the construction of a rural hospital to reduce the long travel distance to the district hospital.
