Ansah’s Heartfelt Christmas: Touching Lives at Nkhoma

Vice President, Right Honourable Justice Dr. Jane Ansah today visited Nkhoma Mission Hospital in Lilongwe, where she donated Christmas hampers to patients, especially new born babies and their mothers as part of the Christmas celebrations, spreading joy to those in need.

The Vice President described Nkhoma Mission Hospital as a key Christian referral health facility which complements government efforts in healthcare provision, highlighting its vital role.

She commended the hospital for its innovative initiatives aimed at providing quality and uninterrupted services, citing the hospital’s production of its own oxygen, showcasing local ingenuity.

Dr. Ansah said the hospital holds personal significance to her, noting that she was born there and that her first-born child was also delivered at the facility, adding a touching personal touch.

She therefore, thanked the DPP government for constructing the Kamphata–Nkhoma road, which has improved access to health services, pointing to progress.

While noting that the hospital recorded one maternal death last year and eight this year, of mostly teenage mothers, she stressed the need to discourage early marriages and teenage pregnancies, addressing critical issues.

Dr. Ansah emphasized the importance of supporting healthcare facilities like Nkhoma Mission Hospital, amid her tour.

The Vice President’s visit highlighted her commitment to uplifting communities, especially during the festive season.

She has since extended Christmas and New Year best wishes to the hospital management and staff, patients at the facility and the entire nation, spreading festive cheer.

Her actions reflect a blend of compassion and leadership, touching lives at Nkhoma.
